Message from Mme Brooke, Principal

We have had a busy and meaningful week of learning. This morning we observed Remembrance Day with a thoughtful program led by grade 4 students and teachers, including art, music, videos, and a former VAS student playing the trumpet for the Last Post and Rouse. We appreciate their efforts and the respect shown by all our students as we remember fallen soldiers and those who have fought in wars around the world to keep peace and protect the freedoms we enjoy.

On Tuesday, November 18, the School Council is holding its AGM, as well as VASPFS (our Parent Fundraising Society). If you're looking to learn more about our school and how you can get involved, this is a great opportunity! Please join us in person or online to meet other parents and learn about what the School Council and VASPFS do to support all our students. The agenda and a link will be sent out soon.

We look forward to connecting with our students after the Fall Break.

Take good care.

Parent Teacher Conferences – book with Home Room, PhysEd and Music Teachers

At Varsity Acres School, we believe strongly that the relationship between home and school is vital for the success of each child's development.  The main goal of this conference is for students, parents and teachers to have a focused learning conversation based on student progress, evidence of learning and important next steps.  It is our goal and expectation that each child attends a conference time with their parents.

For parents of kindergarten students, please watch for an email from your child’s teacher to let you know which kindergarten teacher you need to book with.

Please note, Mme Forbes is only available on Thursday November 27

Nov 27          3:30 PM – 7:30 PM

                     Kindergarten – Grade 5 students

Nov 28          8:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Messenger emails and text Messages from the School

Please see the following link for instructions on how to subscribe to receive all emails and text messages from the school https://calgary.schoolmessenger.com/cbe_subscribe.

Please remember to also opt-in to receive text messages from the school.  We send text messages for time sensitive situations.  An example of a time sensitive message is when Southland Transportation lets us know a school bus will not be able to pick students up at the end of the day.

In this situation, we will send an email message and a text message to let parents know they will need to come to the school to pick up their child/ren.
