Message from Mme Brooke, Principal:

We have enjoyed welcoming our students back to school this week. Our teaching staff have been touched by the support and kindness of our parent community and we thank you for reaching out and connecting with us. Our focus has been- and will continue to be- on fostering well-being, deepening students' sense of belonging, and re-establishing routines that support learning. Our teachers will be planning intentionally to teach and engage in tasks that attend to core learning outcomes for our students.  I have already observed impressive work by our students this week! Students are listening, participating, speaking, reading and writing in French, and engaging in classroom learning tasks with perseverance and pride. Bravo! We look forward to continuing our learning journey together and connecting with families soon.

1.    Previously Planned Conferences for November 6 & 7

Due to teacher labour action during the month of October, our previously planned parent teacher conferences will be postponed. We will communicate new conference dates/times for all K-5 students in the coming weeks.

2.    Calendar

The general CBE Instructional calendar will remain the same, including the upcoming Fall Break. The Varsity Acres School instructional calendar linked here has only one adjustment so far (parent- teacher conferences will no longer occur on November 6, 7). We will communicate any necessary changes in the coming weeks.

3.    Central Fees

Central Fees include the noon supervision fee, the student supplies fee, and the transportation fee (if your child takes the yellow bus to school). The CBE will applying Central Fees in the coming weeks and we want to ensure that you know how to pay them. Please see the instructions on how to pay your fees from this LINK
