Thank You
Thank you to all of our wonderful volunteers who help with field trips and school and families who are able to support the various fundraising initiatives. Most recently at the following student events Open Minds, Aggie Days, Swimming, Teachers Pet, as well as School Council and the Parent Fundraising Society (Council Meetings, Healthy Hunger and the plant fundraiser). We would not be able to offer the variety of learning activities to our students without your help.

Did you know?
Part of our afternoon supervision includes two teachers in the courtyard after school. These teachers wear vests and carry walkie-talkies to communicate with the office and the administrator supervising our busses. Buses are only dismissed once the supervisors have swept the courtyard for bus students. All parents, guardians and students should always feel welcome to approach a courtyard supervisor to request assistance. In addition, our office is open Monday- Thursday until 3:00pm and Fridays until 1:00pm. You can ring the courtyard doorbell to speak to the office if the courtyard is clear and you need help or have a question.
Physical Education
Dear VAS Families,
WOW! A huge thank you to all the parent volunteers who supported our Grade 1 and 2 students at the Sir Winston Churchill pool this week. There are so many moving parts involved in off-site activities, and your help is truly what makes these experiences possible. On behalf of all students and staff at Varsity, thank you for your time and support!
Next week, all Grade 3 classes — along with one Grade 2 class — will begin their swimming lessons. If you haven’t yet connected with your child’s teacher or with me to volunteer, please consider doing so! We can never have too many extra hands to help out.
Just a reminder that all volunteers must have a valid Police Information Check (PIC) on file with our school. If you’re not able to volunteer this time, but would like to help in the future, please connect with Mme. Teri (tebroome@cbe.ab.ca) in the office to learn how to get a free PIC (valid for 5 years!). It’s a great step to take if you’re considering joining us for future field trips or special events.
Lastly, a gentle reminder to check your child’s footwear for PE classes. With the warmer weather, I’m noticing more sandals and Crocs in the gym. These types of shoes don’t offer the support needed for safe participation in class activities and may limit your child’s ability to take part fully.
Thank you for your continued support!

Program Monitoring- Requesting Parent and Guardian Input
This year, Varsity Acres School is engaging in a pilot program relating to our French Immersion program, a portion of which includes the deployment of this survey. The purpose of this Program Monitoring survey is to help inform the school about stakeholder perspectives, with a goal of developing some actions that we can undertake.
