Physical Education

As our swimming program wraps up, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped make this experience such a success!

A huge shout-out to our incredible volunteers, whose support made transitions between school and the pool smooth and stress-free. We’re also very grateful to the welcoming and professional staff at the Sir Winston Churchill Recreation and Aquatic Complex, who created a safe and engaging learning environment for our students. And of course, thank you to our homeroom teachers for their flexibility and support with schedule changes throughout the program.

Thanks to this fantastic team effort, our students had a rich and memorable learning experience focused on aquatic safety and survival skills!

Lastly, being mindful of the cost to parents, a HUGE thank you to VASPFS who covered the cost of bussing for all Grade 1-3 students to participate in this learning experience. By absorbing the cost of transportation, we were able to ensure a highly subsidized rate for swimming lessons for each student.

We would appreciate your feedback on our swimming experience these past two weeks. Please respond to this survey to help support, and provide feedback, to determine whether this opportunity should continue moving forward.

Your child's evaluation of swimming skills will be made available in the month ahead. Once the reports are ready, M. David will collect them from the pool and distribute them to homeroom teachers.

Thank you,
M. David (dapakosh@cbe.ab.ca

Election

Varsity Acres School is a Federal Election site. This includes advanced polling from Friday, April 18- Monday, April 21 (non-instructional days), as well as Election Day on Monday, April 28, 2025.

All students of Varsity Acres School will not be able to use the main doors on Monday, April 28, 2025. Please make arrangements to enter the school building via the Courtyard B doors. The main doors of the building are for voters accessing the gym to vote in the Federal Election. All students who are late to school or who need to be picked up early, should come to the Courtyard B doors to ring the door bell, enter the school and come directly to the office.

We appreciate your assistance with this change in support of the Federal Election. Elections Canada has measures in place to keep the public away from students and school proceedings while students are in the building.

Please reach out to Mme Brooke at brreilly@cbe.ab.ca if you have any questions.

Lost and Found

The Found items are piling up again.  Please stop by the school to see if there are items that belong to your family.  A gentle reminder to please label your child’s items so we can return them to their owner.
